Washington SBA Rep Tours Reynolds Packaging

The Year 2020 was like no other. History will remember 2020 as the year of COVID-19, a global pandemic. The impact of the virus was felt in every region in the world, including our neck of the woods in Green Bay, Wisconsin. 

When COVID-19 hit, we had new goals thrust upon us. We identified an urgent need for personal protective equipment and redirected our manufacturing processes to meet the need. By converting equipment and adding a new line in January 2021, we were capable of manufacturing masks, filters, and flexible packaging for alcohol wipes and other protective products. We diversified our manufacturing lines and ran a 24-hour production schedule. 

Our employees have always been our most valuable resource, and they became even more essential during the pandemic. Our work was more important than ever. We were directly contributing to people’s health and well-being. The Paycheck Protection Program was a much-appreciated incentive to keep our workers on the packaging lines producing personal protective equipment for schools and hospitals.

In July, U.S. Small Business Administrator Jovita Carranza visited Reynolds Packaging. She came from Washington D.C. to Green Bay to see how the SBA and the Paycheck Protection Program helped small businesses and manufacturers like us. 

Jovita served as the administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration under President Donald Trump. She advocated on behalf of the 30 million small businesses in America. Jovita led a team dedicated to ensuring entrepreneurs have the support and resources needed to start, grow, and expand their small businesses and recover in the event of a declared disaster.

We were honored to host Jovita and her colleagues. She was truly interested in touring our manufacturing facility and learning about our growing business. We appreciate Jovita’s interest in our company and her advocacy for other small businesses in the nation.
